Anapole superconductivity from $${{{{{{{\mathcal{PT}}}}}}}}$$-symmetric mixed-parity interband pairing

چکیده
Recently, superconductivity with spontaneous time-reversal or parity symmetry breaking is attracting much attention owing to its exotic properties, such as nontrivial topology and nonreciprocal transport. Particularly fascinating phenomena are expected when the simultaneously broken. This work shows that symmetry-breaking mixed-parity superconducting states generally exhibit an unusual asymmetric Bogoliubov spectrum due nonunitary interband pairing. For generic two-band models, we derive necessary conditions for spectrum. We also demonstrate quasiparticles lead effective anapole moment of state, which stabilizes a nonuniform Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov state at zero magnetic fields. The concept order employed in nuclear physics, materials science, strongly correlated electron systems, optoelectronics extended superconductors by this work. Our conclusions relevant any multiband competing even- odd-parity pairing channels. Especially, discuss UTe$_2$.

Interband pairing in multiorbital systems
The discovery of high-Tc superconductivity in the pnictides, materials with a Fermi surface determined by several bands, highlights the need to understand how superconductivity arises in multiband systems. In this effort, using symmetry considerations and mean-field approximations, we discuss how strong hybridization among orbitals may lead to both intraband and interband pairings, and we prese...
متن کاملTwo-Gap Superconductivity in LaNiGa_{2} with Nonunitary Triplet Pairing and Even Parity Gap Symmetry.
The nature of the pairing states of superconducting LaNiC_{2} and LaNiGa_{2} has to date remained a puzzling question. Broken time reversal symmetry has been observed in both compounds and a group theoretical analysis implies a nonunitary triplet pairing state. However, all the allowed nonunitary triplet states have nodal gap functions but most thermodynamic and NMR measurements indicate fully ...
متن کاملOdd-parity pairing and topological superconductivity in a strongly spin-orbit coupled semiconductor.
The existence of topological superconductors preserving time-reversal symmetry was recently predicted, and they are expected to provide a solid-state realization of itinerant massless Majorana fermions and a route to topological quantum computation. Their first likely example, Cu(x)Bi(2)Se(3), was discovered last year, but the search for new materials has so far been hindered by the lack of a g...
متن کاملMeasurement of Parity Nonconservation and an Anapole Moment in Cesium
The amplitude of the parity-nonconserving transition between the 6S and 7S states of cesium was precisely measured with the use of a spin-polarized atomic beam. This measurement gives Im(E1pnc)/beta = -1.5935(56) millivolts per centimeter and provides an improved test of the standard model at low energy, including a value for the S parameter of -1.3(3)exp (11)theory. The nuclear spin-dependent ...
متن کاملPerspective: Atomic Parity Violation and the Nuclear Anapole Moment
(February 9, 2008) Until 40 years ago, physicists had assumed that the fundamental forces of nature did not distinguish between left and right. That is, it was believed that the laws of physics in a mirror-symmetric universe would be the same as in ours. Then in 1957, following a suggestion by Lee and Yang [1], experimenters discovered that the weak force, which is responsible for beta decay in...
